What is Project Pan and Why You Should Start One?
“Project pan” is a plan to hit pan on as many products as possible, which even refers to products which don’t have a pan such as liquid foundation, tubes or bottles of skincare.
Admittedly, I have way too much makeup (way too much everything LOL) that I won’t need to buy anything for the rest of my life and I probably the next lifetime, if I have one and I’m still a human being.

The numbers above are just an average number based on my experience and my research. It varies from person to person and depends on the formula and application method.

It is the first and foremost part you need to decide before you start panning. If you want to finish a 1 oz liquid foundation in 30 days, it is nearly impossible unless you are a working makeup artist or reapply your foundation 5 times a day (I won’t criticize if you do, LOL).

Make Your List and Some Tips and Tricks!
– Don’t try to pan something that you don’t like. If you are not happy using it or hate the results/application, why bother. Makeup should be fun. Just choose something you like and it will be much easier that way since you will enjoy it every time you use it.
– Try to list only one to two products in each category. For example, you have 10 products you want to pan in 3 months but 9 out of 10 are lip products, you mostly won’t be able to finish.
– Try not to buy anything until you finish the project. If you continue to buy new products, you are most likely to try the new products and your concentration will be diverted.
– Try a Weekly Basket which you pick the products you want to use for a week and put them in a basket, drawer or makeup bag, whichever you like and switch the products and a weekly basis. In this way, you could stick to the products you want to pan and not get bored.
– Join a community where you can get motivated. Reddit r/panporn, where people proudly display finished or panned products. Reddi r/makeuprehab, a place where people are actively trying to combat a makeup addiction. Instagram #projectpan, so many finished or panned products.
– Give Yourself a Reward If You Finish the Project, you will be much more motivated.
